Toyota Resuming Full Production In Europe In June

Automaker will resume normal production levels in June after resolving problems with parts delivery caused by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

MILAN (AP) -- Toyota says it will resume normal production levels in Europe in June after resolving problems with parts delivery caused by the disastrous March 11 earthquake and tsunami in Japan.

Toyota Motor Europe said in a statement Tuesday that four plants would resume normal production volumes on June 1. They are auto assembly plants in Britain and Turkey and engine plants in Britain and Poland. An assembly plant in France resumed normal production on May 16.

Due to parts delivery problems, the Japanese automaker had reduced the pace at all five plants in May.

Toyota said that customer delivery times were returning to normal.
