WEIRTON, W.Va. (AP) -- Four workers have been injured -- one of them seriously -- in a steam accident at a West Virginia tin mill.
The plant in Weirton, about 30 miles west of Pittsburgh, Pa., is owned by the world's largest steel maker, Luxembourg-based ArcelorMittal. It makes rolled steel sheets for use in cans for food and other products.
The company says the four workers were injured Friday morning when a steam valve malfunctioned.
One worker was seriously injured and taken to a hospital in Pittsburgh. Another was treated at a local hospital and released, while the other two were treated at the scene.
The company said it is investigating the cause of the accident along with members of United Steelworkers Local 2911.
