WASHINGTON (AP) -- Safety regulators say some electric hammer drills made by Robert Bosch Tool Corp. are being pulled from the market because of a shock hazard.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission said Tuesday that the recall covered about 20,000 drills. They have a grounding system and a trigger switch that could lead wires to fray or the ground connector to fail.
The trigger switch can also get stuck in the "on" position, the agency said.
No incidents involving the tools have been reported, according to the commission, which said it wants to hear from consumers who experienced incidents or injuries involving the drills.
The recall covers the Bosch half-inch, 2-Speed hammer drill with model numbers HD19-2, HD19-2D, HD19-2L and HD 21-2. "BOSCH" is printed in red letters on the side of the drills.
The drills were sold at many hardware chains from September 2009 through August 2010 for $140 to $220.
The commission said consumers should stop using the tools and return them to the company for repair.
