SAN DIEGO – August 04, 2010 – Qualcomm Incorporated (NASDAQ: QCOM) today announced the appointment of Rob Chandhok as president of Qualcomm Internet Services (QIS). Chandhok’s new position adds to his existing responsibilities as president of Qualcomm Innovation Center Inc. He will report to Steve Mollenkopf, executive vice president of Qualcomm and president of Qualcomm CDMA Technologies (QCT).

QIS has stimulated the growth of data services in the feature phone market and is now ready to transition to support the smartphone space as well. QIS will continue its strong track record of delivering successful platforms, such as QChat and Qpoint, and will be the Company’s development and commercialization entity for new service platforms in support of wireless operators and OEMs.

“Rob has been leading Qualcomm’s initiatives to integrate mobile operating systems and the applications written to them with Qualcomm’s industry-leading chipsets,” said Mollenkopf. “As president of QIS, Rob brings a solid track record of driving new product strategies. His leadership will be invaluable to our integration efforts.”

Chandhok is currently responsible for Qualcomm’s software developer ecosystems, overseeing Qualcomm’s relationships with key software partners. As president of Qualcomm Innovation Center Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary, Chandhok also manages the development of open source software and has expanded Qualcomm’s relationships in the open source community. Originally joining the Company in 2000, Chandhok has played key roles in developing some of Qualcomm’s most significant projects, including MediaFLO technology, the Brew operating system and QChat.

Andrew Gilbert continues as executive vice president and president of Qualcomm Europe, reporting to President Steve Altman. This organizational change enables Gilbert to focus on growth opportunities in Qualcomm’s increasingly strategic European market.

“We appreciate Andrew’s leadership of QIS for the past two years, building capability and demand for mobile applications and related services,” said Altman. “Going forward, Andrew will not only continue to focus on European business development, but also scan for Europe-based business opportunities that extend or complement Qualcomm’s current offerings.”
