TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (AP) -- An auto parts maker plans to potentially add 80 workers in the next 18 months at a western Indiana factory.
Officials of ThyssenKrupp Presta unveiled a $17.5 million expansion of its Terre Haute plant on Wednesday. Company executive Peter Allaart says that production of steering systems will be increased at the factory, which now has about 150 workers.
Work on the expansion started in January 2009 and was completed last month. Installation of new laser welding lines and other equipment is scheduled to be finished in November.
Allaart said most of the added jobs would be for machine operators and other production workers.
