PPG, Union Agree On New 3-Year Contract

Chemical company says the International Chemical Workers Union has ratified a new three-year contract at its plant in Natrium, W. Va.

NATRIUM, W.Va. (AP) -- PPG Industries says the International Chemical Workers Union has ratified a new contract.

While terms aren't being disclosed, plant manager Jim Rock says the company believes the new three-year deal meets the interests of both sides. The current collective bargaining agreement expires Aug. 18.

PPG employs about 525 people at the Natrium factory, which primarily produces caustic soda and chlorine.
