GE Aviation Building New Plant In The U.K.

General Electric's aviation unit is building a new plant in the U.K. that will make equipment for both the civilian and military aerospace markets.

NEW YORK (AP) -- General Electric Co. said Monday that its aviation unit is building a new plant in the U.K.

The GE Aviation facility in Chetlenham will make equipment for both the civilian and military aerospace markets, the company said.

GE expects the facility to be fully up and running by March 2011.

The company's stock rose 3 cents to $14.58 in midday trading.
