EVERETT, Wash. (AP) -- Boeing has started putting together the fuselage for its new 747-8 passenger jet.

Mechanics at the company's Everett plant are assembling the forward part of the plane that houses the flight deck and forward passenger cabin.

The jumbo jet is the largest airliner that Boeing has built. The company has 33 orders for the passenger version and 76 more for its 747-8 freighter, which is now in flight testing. The first passenger plane is to be delivered in late 2011.
