ROME, Ga. (AP) -- The president of a Finnish company that manufactures pigments says it will open a plant in Rome that will employ about 20 people.
Esko Sarkki, president of FP-Pigments, said Tuesday his company will make a $20 million investment and will take over a former Crews Chemical facility. Crews Chemical is relocating to another site in Rome.
The company has patented a variety of specialty pigments used in a number of applications, including paints and coatings, paper and board, plastics and printing inks.
The company will get maintenance and operation tax breaks in its early years, but has agreed to pay school taxes from the outset.
