Eastman Sets Goals For Energy Efficiency

KINGSPORT, Tenn. (AP) -- Eastman Chemical Co. of Kingsport expects an annual 2.5 percent improvement in energy efficiency.

A new review of company policy lists 10-year targets as a 25 percent reduction in energy intensity and 20 percent reduction in greenhouse gas intensity.

The goals are included in the report "Our Sustainability Journey."

The report includes goals to help the company evaluate its programs in economic growth, environmental stewardship and social responsibility.

Eastman has approximately 10,000 employees around the world. It had sales of $5 billion in 2009.
