Dometic May Move HQ To Kentucky

Elkhart, Ind., mayor says a recreational vehicle parts supplier that got tax incentives to add 240 production jobs in the Indiana city last year may be moving its headquarters to Kentucky.

ELKHART, Ind. (AP) -- Elkhart Mayor Dick Moore says a recreational vehicle parts supplier that got tax incentives to add 240 production jobs in the Indiana city last year may be moving its headquarters to Kentucky.

Moore says Dometic Corp. is getting tax incentives from Kentucky for the move, which could involve up to 80 office jobs over the next three years.

The Associated Press e-mailed Dometic after business hours Thursday seeking comment.

Moore tells WSBT-TV he plans to sit down with company officials next week.

Dometic said last year it would spend at least $9 million on equipment for a factory to make refrigerators, awnings, air conditioners and other products.

The mayor says Dometic has no plans to move the production jobs to Louisville.
