Eaton Investing In New Chinese Plant

Diversified industrial manufacturer on Monday said it will expand its Chinese operations by investing in a new engine valve production plant.

NEW YORK (AP) -- Diversified industrial manufacturer Eaton Corp. on Monday said it will expand its Chinese operations by investing in a new engine valve production plant.

Construction on the Jining City facility is set to start in July. The plant will be responsible for the assembly of engine valves and valve actuation components for Chinese automotive customers.

The facility is on the same campus as Eaton Hydraulics System (Jining) Co. Ltd., which produces steering pumps, hydraulic motors and filtration components.

Eaton currently has 27 operations in China with nearly 10,000 employees. Shares of the company rose 63 cents to $75.20 in morning trading.
