TORONTO (CP) -- Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. is changing the name of its Novapharm subsidiary to Teva Canada Ltd.
After being part of the Teva corporate family since 2000, the time is right to align Teva Novopharm's brand more closely with the Israel-based global organization, said Teva Canada president Barry Fishman.
Teva Canada employs 1,400 employees across the country, most notably at its three manufacturing and distribution facilities in Toronto, Stouffville and Markham, Ont.
"For the past 10 years, we've been part of Teva, a global company with operations in over 60 countries, with over 35,000 employees, whose products are used to dispense over a billion prescriptions around the world each year," Fishman said.
"We believe it is time to accentuate this relationship more directly through our branding."
