LONDON (AP) -- Spyker Cars N.V., the specialist Dutch automaker which recently bought Saab, switched production of its Aileron model to Britain on Tuesday.
The cars now will be assembled by Coventry Prototype Panels Ltd. in Coventry in the English Midlands.
CPP had been producing aluminum chassises and body assemblies for Spyker, and shipping them to the Netherlands for final assembly.
CPP potentially could produce five cars a week, Spyker said. The company made a total of 43 cars in 2008, the last year for which final results have been published.
It made the first prototypes for Spyker when the company was revived in 2000, and it has also produced prototypes and special models for Aston Martin, Bentley and Rolls Royce, according to the company's Web site.
