COON RAPIDS, Minn. (AP) -- State health inspectors have declared as safe the operations of Coon Rapids food maker Parkers Farm, weeks after it recalled its cheese and peanut products.
It remains unclear whether the company will be fined for violating health regulations and allowing a potentially deadly bacteria strain to contaminate the production plant.
The Star Tribune reports that state officials say no illnesses were reported as a result of the contamination by the "listeria monocytogenes" bacteria.
Parkers Farm had been completely shut down by state investigators following a nationwide recall of the company's products from stores such as Hy-Vee, Cub, Rainbow, Lunds, Byerly's, Target, Whole Foods, Sam's Club, Costco and Wal-Mart.
