Keystone RV Buys Fleetwood Sites In Oregon

Indiana-based RV Company has purchased two former Fleetwood Travel Trailers manufacturing plants in Pendleton, Oregon.

PENDLETON, Ore. (AP) -- Keystone RV Company has purchased two former Fleetwood Travel Trailers manufacturing plants in Pendleton.

Fleetwood declared bankruptcy in March and shut down its travel trailer division, including sites in Pendleton and La Grande.

Keystone President Ron Fenech, in a news release, called the acquisition a "natural move" for the Indiana-based company. Keystone operates three production facilities in the Pendleton area producing Cougar, Springdale, Hornet and Energy models.

He says the additional plants will enable Keystone to expand the number of brands it can build in the West.

The East Oregonian newspaper reports Keystone bought the property through a bankruptcy auction for $4.2 million.
