Beam Global Closing Ohio Bottling Plant

Bottling company says it plans to close its Cincinnati plant in two years, shedding 184 jobs as it moves the work to two plants in Kentucky.

CINCINNATI (AP) -- Beam Global Spirits & Wine says it plans to close its Cincinnati bottling plant in two years, shedding 184 jobs.

The company said Tuesday processing at the DeKuyper Cordials plant will be moved to two plants in Frankfort, Ky. and Clermont, Ky.

Beam Global says the decision was based on a company review of global demand and existing plant capacity.

The company says it will begin bargaining with the United Food and Commercial Workers -- which represents most of the Cincinnati plant's employees -- over terms of an agreement governing the plant transition.

Beam Global also bottles Jim Beam Bourbon, Sauza Tequila, Canadian Club Whisky, Courvoisier Cognac and other liquor brands.
