SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) -- A door manufacturer plans to close a northern Indiana factory by early next year and eliminate 73 jobs.
Masonite Corp. officials say work from the Mohawk Flush Doors plant in South Bend will be shifted to other North American factories. The company said it expected to shut down the factory by the end of January and that its closing would be permanent.
The company blamed the plant closing on declining demand for its doors during the slowdown in housing construction across the country.
