Missouri-based Emerson Network Power Connectivity Solutions plans to close its production plant in Mesa in December and lay off 135 workers.

MESA, Ariz. (AP) -- A Missouri-based company plans to close its production plant in Mesa in December and lay off 135 workers.

Emerson Network Power Connectivity Solutions announced that it will restructure its operations and plans include transferring the work done at the Mesa plant to facilities in Tempe, Ariz., and Waseca, Minn.

The company says operations at the Mesa plant will be reduced over the next three months, and workers affected by the closing will be eligible for severance packages as well as extended medical and dental benefits.

Emerson provides products for the wireless industry and for use with data networks, telecommunications, security, telemetry and cable television.

The Mesa plant has been in operation in since 1995 originally under the name Semflex.
