Celanese Increases Prices On 4 Chemical Products

Chemical maker will raise the list and off-list selling prices for several of its products starting July 1.

DALLAS (AP) -- Chemical maker Celanese Corp. said Monday it will raise the list and off-list selling prices for several of its products starting July 1.

The company said it will raise the price of acetic acid in Europe by 25 euros per ton. It will raise the price of ethyl acetate in North America by 5 cents per pound, in Central and South America and Asia by $75 per metric ton and in Europe by 60 euros per metric ton.

Celanese will also raise the price of both methyl isobutyl carbinol and methyl isobutyl ketone by 5 cents per pound in North America and 50 euros per ton in Europe.

Shares of Celanese fell 92 cents, or 3.9 percent, to $22.69 in morning trading.
