NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -- Site Selection magazine has ranked two of Tennessee's deals as among the top ones in North America last year.
They are Volkswagen's $1 billion assembly plant in Chattanooga and Hemlock Semiconductor Corp.'s $1.2 billion facility in Clarksville.
The magazine said criteria included the number of jobs created, regional economic impact, value of jobs created, creativity of the deal, incentives, competition and speed.
The VW plant will employ up to 2,000 with production planned to begin in early 2011. The Hemlock plant is to have 500 to 800 jobs when it opens in 2012.
