ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) -- BAE Systems said Monday it has been chosen to compete for equipment orders under an Army program that prepares soldiers for combat using simulators to mimic battle conditions.
BAE Systems said it is one of the companies selected to support the Army's Program Executive Office for Simulation, Training and Instrumentation. The companies will compete for indefinite equipment orders through September 2011, with options extending another seven years beyond that. The total maximum value of all work that companies could perform under the omnibus contract is $17.5 billion.
BAE Systems PLC is a British defense conglomerate. Its U.S. subsidiary, BAE Systems Inc., is based in Rockville, Md.
