MIDLAND, Mich. (AP) -- Dow Chemical and a Kuwaiti company have delayed a decision on announcing a headquarters site for their joint petrochemicals venture until early next year.
Dow and Petrochemical Industries Co. still plan to launch K-Dow Petrochemicals Jan. 1. But spokeswoman Catherine Maxey said Tuesday officials are working out details over leasing and other issues for the site they had hoped to select by year's end.
She says an announcement is expected during the first quarter.
The headquarters will be in the Detroit area. Officials have said they seek access to international flights and schools where the employees' children can speak Arabic.
K-Dow will make plastics for such uses as consumer products, automotive parts and drug processing.
