3M Acquires Beiersdorf's Futuro Product Line

Maker of products including Scotch Tape and Post-it Notes, said Tuesday it completed the acquisition of Beiersdorf's Futuro line of health supports and compression hosiery.

ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) -- 3M Co., the maker of products including Scotch Tape and Post-it Notes, said Tuesday it completed the acquisition of Beiersdorf's Futuro line of health supports and compression hosiery.

Wilton, Conn.-based Beiersdorf is a subsidiary of Germany's Beiersdorf AG, the maker of Nivea skincare products and Tesa tape. Its Futuro line includes wraps and bandages used to relieve pain from minor injuries.

Financial terms were undisclosed.

The deal will bolster 3M's consumer businesses and expand offerings in the U.S., Australia, Europe and Asia, the St. Paul, Minn.-based company said.

Shares rose 31 cents to $55.94 during afternoon trading.
