Lawsuits Seek Refunds From Eclipse Aviation

Three more plaintiffs filed lawsuits against troubled Eclipse Aviation, seeking refunds of deposits they put down when they ordered Eclipse 500 light jets.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) -- Three more plaintiffs have filed lawsuits against troubled Eclipse Aviation Corp. in federal court, seeking refunds of deposits they put down when they ordered Eclipse 500 light jets.

Two lawsuits were filed Thursday, the same day Eclipse employees and state officials said the company told them it could not pay workers for the past two weeks' work.

An Eclipse spokeswoman has not responded to repeated telephone calls Thursday and Friday about the company's troubles.

The latest lawsuits bring the number of plaintiffs who are suing Eclipse to seven. They are seeking refunds after the Albuquerque jet manufacturer raised the price of its Eclipse 500 jet in June.

The latest plaintiffs -- an Australian company, a man from Venezuela and a Mississippi physician -- are seeking refunds ranging from $100,000 to $159,000.
