Eclipse Aviation Employees Not Getting Paychecks

Employees in Albuquerque, N.M., arrived at work early Thursday to learn that they won't be receiving paychecks for the last two weeks of labor.

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) -- Eclipse Aviation employees arrived at work early Thursday to learn that they won't be receiving paychecks for the last two weeks of labor.

Employees at the Albuquerque manufacturing facility said they were called into a meeting and told of the decision. They were handed a toll-free phone number to call later to see if they would be paid.

No reason was given for the action. An Eclipse spokeswoman didn't immediately return telephone messages seeking comment and the company ignored requests to meet with reporters in a parking lot.

Employees expressed anger, frustration and uncertainty before leaving the facility's parking lot. They were told they could come and go from the workplace throughout the day but many emptied their desks and left.

Later in the morning, a female employee who declined to give her name came out of Eclipse headquarters and insisted operations were continuing.

"We are still working. We are positive," she said, shaking a finger at reporters.
