AstraZeneca Names U.S. Business President

British pharmaceutical company said Tuesday it has named Rich Fante president of its U.S. business.

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) -- British pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca PLC said Tuesday it has named Rich Fante president of its U.S. business.

Fante replaces Tony Zook, who was recently named president of MedImmune, a biologics business owned by AstraZeneca. Zook also is chief executive officer of AstraZeneca North America and head of global marketing.

Fante previously led marketing strategies for all AstraZeneca brands in the United States as vice president of brand strategy and portfolio operations.

AstraZeneca employs 12,200 people in the United States, where it has a $13.35 billion healthcare business. The company's products include the bipolar disorder Seroquel.

American Depositary shares of the company added 70 cents to $42.25 in morning trading.
