BERWYN, Pa. (AP) -- Electronic components company Tyco Electronics Ltd. on Wednesday said it has appointed a president of its new medical products unit.
The company said Doug Strohmeier will serve as president of its newly created and stand alone business unit effective immediately.
Strohmeier, 48, previously served as president of the retail products business segment at Covidien. He has also served in several key marketing positions at Tyco Healthcare, as well as in senior marketing positions at General Medical Corp.
Tyco shares fell 5 cents to $27.61 in afternoon trading.
