Suppliers to the General Motors plant in Janesville, Wisc., are planning mass layoffs Dec. 23 -- the same day GM is ending production of sports utility vehicles there.

MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- More suppliers to the General Motors plant in Janesville are planning mass layoffs Dec. 23 -- the same day GM is ending production of sports utility vehicles there.

LSI in Janesville told the state Department of Workforce Development on Tuesday it will lay off 159 workers and stop operations. Flint Services of Janesville said it will close its operation and lay off 28 workers.

Both companies stage materials for the GM assembly line.

Last Friday, Lear Corp. notified the state agency it will lay off 371 workers beginning Dec. 23. Lear supplies interiors and seating systems to the GM plant.
