Fortune Brands Executive Resigns

Company said Tom Flocco, president and chief executive of its Beam Global Spirits & Wine business, has resigned to pursue other interests.

DEERFIELD, Ill. (AP) -- Fortune Brands Inc. on Friday said Tom Flocco, president and chief executive of its Beam Global Spirits & Wine business, has resigned to pursue other interests.

Bruce Carbonari, chairman and CEO of Fortune Brands, will serve as Flocco's replacement on an interim basis until a successor is named.

Flocco joined Fortune Brands in 1999 as senior vice president of strategy and corporate development. He served as chief operating officer of the spirits unit in 2003 and became president and CEO of the spirits business in 2004.

Shares of Fortune Brands rose 90 cents, or 2.5 percent, to $35.75 in morning trading.
