GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) -- BMW supplier LSP Automotive Systems LLC will add 61 jobs and spend $45 million expanding its plant in Union County.
The Greenville News reported Thursday that LSP already employs about 160 at its 230,000-square-foot plant, which makes metal stampings for the X6 sports-activity coupe that BMW Manufacturing Co. assembles in Greer.
Stanley Vanderford, executive director of the Union County Development Board, said LSP would add 125,000 square feet of space and install a second assembly line at its plant, located along U.S. 176 between Union and Spartanburg.
LSP is the second BMW supplier to announce an expansion in little more than a month.
In September, Lear Corp. said it would add 140 jobs and build a second factory in Greer to make seat components for BMW Manufacturing.
