MINNEAPOLIS (AP) -- The U.S. Army has given defense contractor Alliant Techsystems Inc. an additional $94 million for modernization projects at a Virginia ammunition plant.
The Army's Sustainment Command award is for projects that include construction of facilities to fabricate propellants and reduce emissions from the Radford Army Ammunition Plant.
The award raises the total amount of Army support for the plant to $148 million over the past two years.
Share of Alliant Techsystems fell $1.77, or 2 percent, to $85.28 Wednesday.
