WICHITA, Kan. (AP) -- Spirit AeroSystems Inc. says it will cut production on some Boeing products in response to the machinists strike at the airplane manufacturer.
The company said Monday it will reduce the work week to three days for employees in Tulsa and McAlester who support, manufacture and assemble affected products.
Spirit has about 1,800 employees in Tulsa and 290 in McAlester.
Spirit designs and manufactures fuselages, propulsion systems and wing systems for commercial and military aircraft.
Spirit also cut its work week during a Boeing strike three years ago to avoid a shutdown in production and an employee layoff.
