White Electronic Designs CEO Steps Down

Maker of technology components for the military, industrial and medical markets said Hamid Shokrgozar has resigned as chairman, president, chief executive and director.

PHOENIX (AP) -- White Electronic Designs Corp., which makes technology components for the military, industrial and medical markets, said late Thursday Hamid R. Shokrgozar has resigned as chairman, president, chief executive and a director to pursue other opportunities.

Additionally, the board formed a special committee to evaluate all possible strategic alternatives.

Edward A. White, the company's founder, was elected chairman.

The board said it has begun a search for a replacement. In the interim, Chief Financial Officer Roger A. Derse and Executive Vice President Sales and Marketing Dante V. Tarantine will perform the duties of the office of the President.

They will report to a committee of the board.

Shares of White Electronic Designs have traded in a 52-week range of $3.99 to $5.45 and closed Thursday at $4.85.
