Westinghouse Electric Fills New Senior VP Job

Electronics company has named Ricardo Perez to the newly created position of senior vice president of global growth and innovation.

MONROEVILLE, Pa. (AP) -- Westinghouse Electric Co. said Thursday it has named Ricardo Perez to the newly created position of senior vice president of global growth and innovation.

Perez has been with the Monroeville-based company for 27 years, most recently as senior vice president of nuclear services. His new job was created to develop a strategy for capitalizing on anticipated worldwide growth in the nuclear power industry, the company said.

Westinghouse won contracts this year to design and build nuclear reactors in Georgia and South Carolina. Westinghouse Electric, which is owned by Japan's Toshiba Corp., signed a deal last year to supply China's first four U.S.-designed nuclear power plants.

Nick Liparulo, vice president of engineering services, will take over Perez's former job.
