Nestle To Expand Indiana Plant

Maker of Nesquik and Coffee-Mate is expanding its 880,000-square-foot central Indiana production plant in a move the company says will lead to about 135 more jobs.

ANDERSON, Ind. (AP) -- Nestle USA is expanding its 880,000-square-foot central Indiana production plant in a move the company says will lead to about 135 more jobs.

Nestle officials said Tuesday the company would spend $200 million to expand its Anderson plant's beverage production and distribution operations by adding 250,000 square feet.

Within three years, the company says it will hire the new workers, including engineering staff and warehouse staff for the expanded plant about 30 miles northeast of Indianapolis.

Two years ago, Nestle broke ground on the $359 million Anderson plant to make and distribute Nesquik and Coffee-Mate. The company says full production will begin at the plant this year.
