Kronos Raising Titanium Dioxide Prices

Prices for all Kronos titanium dioxide pigment grades sold in western and eastern Europe will be increased by the equivalent of $73.80 per metric ton.

CRANBURY, N.J. (AP) -- Kronos Worldwide Inc. said Tuesday it is raising prices for titanium dioxide sold across Europe, effective Sept. 15.

Prices for all Kronos titanium dioxide pigment grades sold in western and eastern Europe will be increased by the equivalent of 50 euros (US$73.80) per metric ton.

This price increase comes after increases and surcharges previously announced for this region for June and July 2008.

Titanium dioxide is used as a white pigment because of its brightness and blended into sunscreens because of its highly refractive qualities.
