LORDSTOWN, Ohio (AP) -- The head of General Motors is coming to northeast Ohio to show off photos of the new compact car that will be built at the plant near Youngstown.

During Thursday's visit to the Lordstown complex, GM Chairman and Chief Executive Rick Wagoner also plans to announce a multimillion-dollar investment in the plant.

Wagoner will be joined by politicians including Gov. Ted Strickland, and by a United Auto Workers union official.

GM has said the new car to be produced at Lordstown will be called the Cruze and will be more fuel efficient than the automaker's comparable Chevrolet Cobalt.
