VAUGHAN, Ont. (CP) -- Workers terminated by an auto parts factory in Vaughan, Ont., last week are maintaining a blockade of the plant.
About 250 people continue blocking two entrances to Progressive Moulded Products Ltd., despite a court injunction ordering them to leave.
The blockades began last Friday and prevented tractor-trailers from hauling away machinery used to make parts for GM, Chrysler and Ford.
The company, crushed by more than $500 million in debt, closed 11 Toronto-area plants throwing more than 2,000 people out of work.
Workers were offered a $1,500 settlement each, which they say is below the severance pay they are entitled to by law.
Police visited the blockade Sunday, but did not enforce the injunction. Protesters were told police needed more information before doing so.
