Kaiser Aluminum Posts Energy Surcharge

Aluminum products maker announced its surcharges Thursday on shipments to help cover higher energy costs.

FOOTHILL RANCH, Calif. (AP) -- Aluminum products maker Kaiser Aluminum Corp. announced its surcharges Thursday on shipments to help cover higher energy costs.

The energy surcharge for August shipments of fabricated products will be 4.8 cents per pound for 6xxx alloys and 6.6 cents per pound for all other alloys.

The charges, which are updated monthly, are tied to indices from the Department of Energy.
