Volcom Chooses Chairman, President

Clothing and accessories maker said its CEO, Richard Woolcott, has been elected chairman of the board of directors and COO Jason Steris will also now be president of the company.

COSTA MESA, Calif. (AP) -- Clothing and accessories maker Volcom Inc. said Wednesday its chief executive, Richard R. Woolcott, has been elected chairman of the board of directors.

Woolcott will also remain CEO of the company.

He replaces Rene Woolcott, who will stay on as an active member of the board.

The company added that Chief Operating Officer Jason W. Steris will also now be president of the company.

Volcom also said Douglas S. Ingram, who has served on the company's board since June 2005, has been appointed the lead independent director.

Volcom shares climbed 12 cents to $25.68 in electronic after-hours trading. During regular trading, shares rose $1.20, or 4.9 percent, to close at $25.56.
