New Mississippi Toyota Parts Plant Names Manager

Toyota Boshoku America, a manufacturer of automotive interior systems, has named Johnny Tucker to oversee production and start-up efforts at its new Mississippi plant.

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) -- Toyota Boshoku America, a manufacturer of automotive interior systems, has named Itawamba County resident Johnny Tucker to oversee production and start-up efforts at its new Mississippi plant.

The plant, to be located in Itawamba County, will supply Toyota Motor Corporation's new automotive manufacturing plant in northeast Mississippi. Production at the plant is expected to begin in mid-2010.

In a statement, Toyota Boshoku says that Tucker, an industrial engineer, brings extensive experience and manufacturing knowledge to TBA as its new plant manager.

Tucker previously held similar positions at Charm Step Shoe in Fulton and Krueger Metal in Tupelo. He is a 20½-year veteran of Cooper Tire & Rubber Co., holding positions as senior industrial engineer, industrial engineering manager and plant production manager in their Texarkana, Ark., and Tupelo manufacturing plants.

Toyota Boshoku American, a subsidiary of Toyota Boshoku Corporation based in Kariya, Japan, and its affiliates employ 7,000 and have 23 locations throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Argentina.
