ANDERSON, Ind. (AP) -- Nestle plans to seek permission for an expansion that could add 140 jobs at its Anderson bottling plant.
A city Board of Zoning Appeals report says the company will ask during the board's meeting on Wednesday for a special exception allowing the 260,000-square-foot expansion.
Nestle spokeswoman Pam Krebs says the request is a pre-emptive move so that when the company is ready for the expansion, it does not take as long to begin work.
The city report said the company plans the project because of a new beverage that will be made at the plant.
Nestle broke ground on the $359 million plant in 2006 to make and distribute Nesquik and Coffee-Mate.
