Kellogg Buys Chinese Cracker, Cookie Maker

Cereal maker on Monday said its subsidiary acquired Zhenghang Food, a Chinese maker of cookies and crackers.

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. (AP) -- Cereal maker Kellogg Co. on Monday said its subsidiary acquired Zhenghang Food Co., a Chinese maker of cookies and crackers.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Kellogg said the acquisition will help it expand in China. The deal includes two plants and the company's sales and distribution network.

Zhenghang Food Co. employs about 1,800 and had 2007 sales of about $50 million.
