OWENSBORO, Ky. (AP) -- A plant in western Kentucky that builds truck parts is cutting 103 jobs as it eliminates its second shift because of lower demand for the vehicles.
Dana Corp.'s Automotive Systems Group spokesman Jeff Cole says the Owensboro plant will cut back to one shift beginning Monday. The plant makes frames for Toyota's Tundra and Sequoia models.
Cole told the (Owensboro) Messenger-Inquirer on Wednesday that the layoffs are "indefinite" and 234 workers on the first shift would not be affected.
The layoffs come on the heels of the June 9 closing of the Executive Inn Rivermont and the layoff of more than 200 workers there.
