Laird Technologies Donates To China Quake Relief Efforts

Local employees in China contribute $35,000 in addition to a corporate donation of $100,000 to aid the recovery responseΒ to the recent earthquake in Chengdu.

ST. LOUIS -- Laird Technologies Inc., a unit of UK-based Laird PLC, today announced a corporate donation of $100,000 for relief efforts to aid the recovery response of the recent devastating earthquake in Chengdu, China. In addition, individual company employees in China donated over $35,000 in a grass roots effort to assist their fellow countrymen.

β€œThe world has been watching with great sadness the tragedy of the horrible earthquake in the Chengdu area. While we are not in a position to significantly help those affected by this tragic event,” said Marty Rapp, CEO of Laird Technologies, Inc., β€œwe respect and value the people impacted by this tragedy and want to be supportive of the areas in which we do business.”

Rapp went on to say that the company is very proud of and strongly respects the individual contributions of its China employees to aid in the recovery efforts.

Laird Technologies is a global designer and supplier of customized, performance-critical products for wireless and other advanced electronics applications, with more than 40 facilities around the world including eight sites located in China.

While none of its facilities were physically affected by the earthquake, many employees were directly impacted.
