APPLETON, Wis. (AP) -- A plant that makes paper plates and napkins will be closed in Appleton and work moved to the company's Clintonville, Wis., facility.
The Hoffmaster Group says production will be phased out in Appleton and 300 jobs will eventually be lost.
Hoffmaster CEO Rory Leyden says the two plants make similar products for the party goods industry. Leyden says it will be easier to expand in Clintonville because it's a newer site.
Hoffmaster is encouraging workers displaced at the Appleton location, Creative Converting Consumer Division, to apply for work at the expanded Clintonville facility.
Leyden says work on the expansion should begin this summer, with tentative completion set for April.
The Clintonville plant employs 200 people.
