Auto Parts Supplier Lear Closing Michigan Plant

Lear Corp. plans to close a Romulus, Mich., plant as part of a restructuring at the auto parts supplier, costing about 300 workers their jobs.

ROMULUS, Mich. (AP) -- Lear Corp. plans to close a Romulus plant as part of a restructuring at the auto parts supplier, costing about 300 workers their jobs.

The Detroit News reports Monday that state records show employees at the plant were given notice last month that the plant would close.

The plant closure is the latest in the Southfield-based company's restructuring announced in 2005.

Lear spokeswoman Andrea Puchalsky says the company does not provide specifics about restructuring on a regional basis.
