Zhang Named Chief Chemist At FQSI

Dr. Zhang will focus on optimizing current chemical formulations as well as developing next generation products at Food Quality Sensor International.

LEXINGTON, Mass. -- Shi-Wei Zhang, Ph.D., has been named Chief Chemist at Food Quality Sensor International Inc. (FQSI), a Life Sciences company that merges sophisticated homeland security sensor science with food safety technology.
 
Dr. Zhang will focus on optimizing current chemical formulations as well as developing next generation products.
 
"We are pleased to have Dr. Zhang aboard to help with our food science and chemistry efforts," said Alain Hanover, President and CEO of FQSI.
 
Dr. Zhang has worked extensively in organic chemistry, polymer-based nanotechnology and chemical sensor research. He most recently served as Director of Chemistry at Saoirse Corporation in Cambridge, Mass.
 
He holds a Ph.D. in Organometalic Chemistry from Kyoto University in Japan, an M.S. in Physical Chemistry from Kyoto University and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering for Dalian University of Technology in China.
