Hardman New Cymat President And COO

Toronto-based maker of advanced materials for industrial uses appointed aluminum industry sales veteran Tim Hardman as the new president and chief operating officer.

TORONTO -- Cymat Technologies Ltd., a Toronto-based maker of advanced materials for industrial uses, says it has appointed aluminum industry sales veteran Tim Hardman as the company's new president and chief operating officer.

Hardman replaces Chris Skillen, current president and CEO, Cymat said Tuesday.

Hardman has an extensive background in aluminum sales and marketing, focused on the defence and aerospace industries. He also helped advance his former company in the specialized materials sector from research and development to profitable operations.

''We are extremely fortunate to have attracted an executive of Tim's calibre,'' said Michael Liik, executive chairman of Cymat. ''Tim's in-depth understanding of our industry and customers will ensure a smooth transition and be invaluable in moving the company to the next level.''

As interest in Cymat's proprietary aluminum foam material continues to expand in the auto sector, the company said it also plans to bolster its management team with a senior former auto executive.

Cymat develops innovative materials for industry and has worldwide rights to produce stabilized aluminum foam, an ultra-light metallic foam that can be used in a variety of industries.
